A Life Well Swum

Graeme Lowe just wanted to get fit, but a few lengths in the local pool rekindled a childhood ambition he thought he had left behind: to swim the English Channel.

A Life Well Swum follows his journey into the world of long distance swimming, from dolphins off Catalina to jellyfish in the North Channel. It is a story of cold, fatigue, friendship and the decisions that matter.

The focus isn’t only on solo achievements, it’s about depending on a team, the camaraderie of relays and the pressure of supporting others.

More than a memoir about swimming, this is a story of finding a place in the sea and a community.
